‘ People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan’ is available now on Digital and on Blu-ray and DVD Monday 22 nd November 2021. It is directed by Jack Clough (‘People Just Do Nothing’) and produced by Claire Jones (‘Ghost Stories’) and Tim Sealey for Roughcut. Written by Steve Stamp and Allan Mustafa, with additional material by Asim Chaudhry, Hugo Chegwin and Lily Brazier. The film stars stars Allan Mustafa (MC Grindah), Hugo Chegwin (DJ Beats), Asim Chaudhry (Chabuddy G), Steve Stamp (Steves), Dan Sylvester (Decoy), Lily Brazier (Miche), Hitomi Souno (Miki) and Ken Yamamura (Taka). While visiting Japan, Big Bird wanders off from a guided tour bus in Tokyo, and is lost until a Japanese woman helps him get to where he needs to go.
Big Bird and Barkley, having previously seen China independently, have signed up for a bus tour of Japan. Produced in association with NHK, Japan's public broadcaster, and filmed on location in Tokyo and Kyoto, the special debuted in Japan on NHK in the late fall of 1988, and on PBS on January 16, 1989.
